## Preface

The Minor Comprehensive Form of Ziyarah In his book of Man La Yahdharul Faqih, Shaykh al-Saduq has reported that Imam al-Ridha (a) was once asked about the way of visiting Imam Musa Kazim (a). He answered, “You may pray in the mosques surrounding his tomb. It is however acceptable to say the following (form of ziyarah) at all shrines.” This apparently means that it is acceptable to say this form of ziyarah at visiting the holy shrines of the Imams (a) or even all other holy shrines, like those of the Prophets and the Prophets’ successors: .

1. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ أَوْلِيَاءِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَصْفِيَائِهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala awliya'i allahi wa asfiya'ihi*\
   Peace be upon Allah's friends and well-chosen ones!

2. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ أُمَنَاءِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَحِبَّائِهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala umana'i allahi wa ahibba'ihi*\
   Peace be upon Allah's trustees and beloved ones!

3. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ أَنْصَارِ ٱللَّهِ وَخُلَفَائِهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala ansari allahi wa khulafa'ihi*\
   Peace be upon Allah's supporters and representatives!

4. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ مَحالِّ مَعْرِفَةِ ٱللَّهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala mahalli ma\`rifati allahi*\
   Peace be upon the centers of the recognition of Allah!

5. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ مَسَاكِنِ ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala masakini dhikri allahi*\
   Peace be upon the places of mentioning Allah!

6. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ مُظْهِرِي أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَنَهْيِهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala muzhiri amri allahi wa nahyihi*\
   Peace be upon the demonstrators of Allah's orders and prohibitions!

7. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلدُّعَاةِ إِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala alddu\`ati ila allahi*\
   Peace be upon the callers to Allah!

8. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْمُسْتَقِرِّينَ فِي مَرْضَاتِ ٱللَّهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala almustaqirrina fi mardati allahi*\
   Peace be upon those settling down at Allah's pleasure!

9. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلْمُخْلِصِينَ فِي طَاعَةِ ٱللَّهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala almukhlisina fi ta\`ati allahi*\
   Peace be upon those obeying Allah sincerely!

10. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلأَدِلاَّءِ عَلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ\
   *alssalamu \`ala al-adilla'i \`ala allahi*\
   Peace be upon those guiding to Allah!

11. اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَىٰ ٱلَّذِينَ مَنْ وَالاَهُمْ فَقَدْ وَالَىٰ ٱللَّهَ\
   *alssalamu \`ala alladhina man walahum faqad wala allaha*\
   Peace be upon those the loyalty to whom is loyalty to Allah,

12. وَمَنْ عَادَاهُمْ فَقَدْ عَادَىٰ ٱللَّهَ\
   *wa man \`adahum faqad \`ada allaha*\
   the hostility towards whom is hostility towards Allah,

13. وَمَنْ عَرَفَهُمْ فَقَدْ عَرَفَ ٱللَّهَ\
   *wa man \`arafahum faqad \`arafa allaha*\
   the recognition of whom is recognition of Allah,

14. وَمَنْ جَهِلَهُمْ فَقَدْ جَهِلَ ٱللَّهَ\
   *wa man jahilahum faqad jahila allaha*\
   ignorance of whom is ignorance of Allah,

15. وَمَنِ ٱعْتَصَمَ بِهِمْ فَقَدِ ٱعْتَصَمَ بِٱللَّهِ\
   *wa mani i\`tasama bihim faqadi i\`tasama billahi*\
   sticking to whom is sticking to Allah,

16. وَمَنْ تَخَلَّىٰ مِنْهُمْ فَقَدْ تَخَلَّىٰ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ\
   *wa man takhalla minhum faqad takhalla min allahi \`azza wa jalla*\
   and abandonment of whom is abandonment of Allah the Almighty and All-majestic.

17. وَأُشْهِدُ ٱللَّهَ أَنِّي سِلْمٌ لِمَنْ سَالَمْتُمْ\
   *wa ushhidu allaha anni silmun liman salamtum*\
   And I call Allah to witness that I am at peace with those with whom you are at peace

18. وَحَرْبٌ لِمَنْ حارَبْتُمْ\
   *wa harbun liman harabtum*\
   and at war with those with whom you are at war.

19. مُؤْمِنٌ بِسِرِّكُمْ وَعَلاَنِيَتِكُمْ\
   *mu'minun bisirrikum wa \`alaniyatikum*\
   I believe in your secret and open affairs

20. مُفَوِّضٌ فِي ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ\
   *mufawwidun fi dhalika kullihi ilaykum*\
   and I am relegating all that to you.

21. لَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ عَدُوَّ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ\
   *la\`ana allahu \`aduwa ali muhammadin*\
   May Allah curse the enemy of Muhammad's Household,

22. مِنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلإِنْسِ\
   *min aljinni wal-insi*\
   including the jinn and mankind,

23. وَأَبْرَأُ إِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ\
   *wa abra'u ila allahi minhum*\
   and I disavow them in the presence of Allah.

24. وَصَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ\
   *wa salla allahu \`ala muhammadin wa alihi*\
   May Allah bless Muhammad and his Household.
