## Preface

Within the recommended rites on Fridays, Shaykh al-Tusi, in his book of Misbah al-Mutahajjid, has mentioned the following from Imam Hasan Askari (a):

Each line gives the Arabic, then the transliteration in italics, then the English.

1. اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ٱلصَّادِقِ\
   *allahumma salli \`ala ja\`fari bni muhammadin alssadiqi*\
   O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Ja'far the son of Muhammad the veracious,

2. خَازِنِ ٱلْعِلْمِ\
   *khazini al\`ilmi*\
   the treasure of knowledge,

3. ٱلدَّاعِي إِلَيْكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ\
   *aldda\`i ilayka bilhaqqi*\
   the caller to You with the truth,

4. ٱلنُّورِ ٱلْمُبِينِ\
   *alnnuri almubini*\
   and the manifest light.

5. اَللَّهُمَّ وَكَمَا جَعَلْتَهُ مَعْدِنَ كَلاَمِكَ وَوَحْيِكَ\
   *allahumma wa kama ja\`altahu ma\`dina kalamika wa wahyika*\
   O Allah, as You have made him the core of Your words and revelations,

6. وَخَازِنَ عِلْمِكَ\
   *wa khazina \`ilmika*\
   the treasure of Your knowledge,

7. وَلِسَانَ تَوْحِيدِكَ\
   *wa lisana tawhidika*\
   the spokesman of the profession of Your Oneness,

8. وَوَلِيَّ أَمْرِكَ\
   *wa waliyya amrika*\
   the authorized to undertake Your mission,

9. وَمُسْتَحْفَظَ دِينِكَ\
   *wa mustahfaza dinika*\
   and the keeper of Your religion,

10. فَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ\
   *fasalli \`alayhi*\
   so also (please) send blessings upon him

11. أَفْضَلَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ\
   *afdala ma sallayta \`ala ahadin*\
   with the most excellent blessings that You have ever sent upon any

12. مِنْ أَصْفِيَائِكَ وَحُجَجِكَ\
   *min asfiya'ika wa hujajika*\
   of Your elite people and arguments.

13. إنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ\
   *innaka hamidun majidun*\
   Indeed, You are full of praise, full of glory.
