1. اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ تَشَأْ تَعْفُ عَنَّا فَبِفَضْلِكَ،\
   *Allāhumma in tashaʾ taʿfu ʿannā fabifaḍlika*\
   O Allah, if You will, You forgive us by Your grace,

2. وَإِنْ تَشَأْ تُعَذِّبْنَا فَبِعَدْلِكَ،\
   *Wa-in tashaʾ tuʿaḏḏibnā fibiʿadlika*\
   And if You will, You punish us by Your justice,

3. فَسَهِّلْ لَنَا عَفْوَكَ بِمَنِّكَ،\
   *Fasahhil lanā ʿafwaka bimanika*\
   So make easy for us Your pardon by Your bounty,

4. وَأَجِرْنَا مِنْ عَذَابِكَ بِتَجَاوُزِكَ؛\
   *Wa-ajirnā min ʿaḏābika bitajāwuzika*\
   And save us from Your punishment by Your forgiveness;

5. فَإِنَّهُ لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِعَدْلِكَ،\
   *Fa-innahu lā ṭāqata lanā biʿadlika*\
   For we have no strength to bear Your justice,

6. وَلَا نَجَاةَ لِأَحَدٍ مِنَّا دُونَ عَفْوِكَ.\
   *Wa-lā najāta li-aḥadin minnā dūna ʿafwika*\
   And none of us can be saved without Your pardon.

7. يَا غَنِيَّ الأَغْنِيَاءِهَا، نَحْنُ عِبَادُكَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ،\
   *Yā ghanīya alaghniyāʾ, hā naḥnu ʿibāduka bayna yadayka*\
   O Richest of the rich, here we are, Your servants before You,

8. وَأَنَا أَفْقَرُ الفُقَرَاءِ إِلَيْكَ، فَاجْبُرْ فَاقَتَنَا بِوُسْعِكَ،\
   *Waanā afqaru alfuqarāʾ ilayka, faajbur fāqatana biwusʿika*\
   And I am the poorest of the poor to You, so mend our poverty with Your ability,

9. وَلَا تَقْطَعْ رَجَاءَنَا بِمَنْعِكَ،\
   *Walā taqṭaʿ rajāʾanā bimanʿika*\
   And do not cut off our hope by withholding,

10. فَتَكُونَ قَدْ أَشْقَيْتَ مَنِ اسْتَسْعَدَ بِكَ،\
   *Fatakūna qad ashqayta mani istasʿada bika*\
   So You would have made wretched one who sought happiness through You,

11. وَحَرَمْتَ مَنِ اسْتَرْفَدَ فَضْلَكَ.\
   *Waharamta mani istarfada faḍlaka*\
   And deprived one who sought the bounty from You.

12. فَإِلَى مَنْ حِينَئِذٍ مُنْقَلَبُنَا عَنْكَ،\
   *Failā man ḥīnaʾiḏin munqalabunā ʿanka*\
   Then to whom shall we turn away from You,?

13. وَإِلَى أَيْنَ مَذْهَبُنَا عَنْ بَابِكَ،\
   *Wailā ayna maḏhabunā ʿan bābika*\
   And where shall we go away from Your door,

14. سُبْحَانَكَ نَحْنُ الْمُضْطَرُّونَ الَّذِينَ أَوْجَبْتَ إِجَابَتَهُمْ،\
   *Subḥānaka naḥnu almuḍṭarrūna alladhīna awjabta ijābatahum*\
   Glory be to You, we are the distressed ones whose answer You have made obligatory,

15. وَأَهْلُ السُّوءِ الَّذِينَ وَعَدْتَ الْكَشْفَ عَنْهُمْ.\
   *Waahlu assūʾ alladhīna waʿadta alkashfa ʿanhum*\
   And the people of evil whom You promised to relieve.

16. وَأَشْبَهُ الأَشْيَاءِ بِمَشِيئَتِكَ،\
   *Waashbahu alashyāʾ bimashīʾatika*\
   And the most resembling of things to Your will,

17. وَأَوْلَى الأُمُورِ بِكَ فِي عَظَمَتِكَ رَحْمَةُ مَنِ اسْتَرْحَمَكَ،\
   *Waawlā alumūri bika fī ʿaẓamatika raḥmatu mani istarḥamaka*\
   And the most befitting of matters for You in Your greatness is the mercy upon one who seeks it from You,

18. وَغَوْثُ مَنِ اسْتَغَاثَ بِكَ،\
   *Waghawthu mani istaghātha bika*\
   And the aid to one who seeks help from You,

19. فَارْحَمْ تَضَرُّعَنَا إِلَيْكَ،\
   *Farḥam taḍarruʿanā ilayka*\
   So have mercy upon our supplication to You,

20. وَأَغْنِنَا إِذْ طَرَحْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ.\
   *Waaghninā idh ṭaraḥnā anfusanā bayna yadayka*\
   And enrich us as we have cast ourselves before You.

21. اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ قَدْ شَمِتَ بِنَا إِذْ شَايَعْنَاهُ عَلَى مَعْصِيَتِكَ،\
   *Allāhumma inna ashshayṭāna qad shamita binā idh shāyaʿnāhu ʿalā maʿṣiyatika*\
   O Allah, Satan has rejoiced over us when we sided with him in disobeying You,

22. فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ،\
   *Faṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin waālihi*\
   So send blessings upon Muhammad and his family,

23. وَلَا تُشْمِتْهُ بِنَا بَعْدَ تَرْكِنَا إِيَّاهُ لَكَ،\
   *Walā tushmithu binā baʿda tarkinā iyyāhu laka*\
   And do not let him rejoice over us after we abandoned him for Your sake,

24. وَرَغْبَتِنَا عَنْهُ إِلَيْكَ.\
   *Waraghabatinā ʿanhu ilayka*\
   And turned our desire away from him towards You.
