## Text

Each line gives the Arabic, then the transliteration in italics, then the English.

1. أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ.\
   *astaghfiru allaha wa atubu ilayhi*\
   I seek the forgiveness of Allah and I repent before Him.

2. أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ رَبِّي وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ\
   *astaghfiru allaha rabby wa atubu ilayhi*\
   I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him

3. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِكِتَابِكَ الْمُنْزَلِ وَ مَا فِيهِ\
   *Alaahumma inni asaloka be kitaabekal munzale Wa maa feeh,*\
   O Allah I beseech You in the name of Your revealed Book and that which is in it,

4. وَ فِيهِ اسْمُكَ الْأَكْبَرُ وَ أَسْمَاؤُكَ الْحُسْنَى وَ مَا يُخَافُ وَ يُرْجَى أَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي مِنْ عُتَقَائِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ\
   *wa feehismokal akbaro wa asmaakal husnaa, wa maa yokhaafo Wa yurjaa an taj-alani min otaqaaeka minan-Naar*\
   and Your Great Name and Your (Other) beautiful names are in it, and in it there is that which warns and gives hope to include me among those who have been set free from the Hellfire.

5. اللّهُمّ بِحَقّ هذَا القُرْآنِ\
   *Allaahumma be haqqe haazal Qur'an*\
   O Allah: for the sake of this (Holy) Qur'an,

6. وَبِحَقّ مَنْ أَرْسَلْتَهُ بِهِ\
   *we be haqqe man arsaltahoo beh*\
   and for the sake of that person through whom You sent it,

7. وَبِحَقّ كُلّ مُؤْمِنٍ مَدَحْتَهُ فِيهِ\
   *Wa be haqqe kulle momenin madahtahoo feeh*\
   and for the sake of those believers who have been praised therein,

8. وَبِحَقّكَ عَلَيْهِمْ\
   *we be haqqeka alaihim*\
   and in the name of Your obligation to them,

9. فَال أَحَدَ أَعْرَفُ بِحَقّكَ مِنْكَ.\
   *fa-laa ahada a'arafo be haqqeka mink*\
   no one is aware of Your obligation more than You

10. بِكَ يَا اللّهُ،\
   *bika yaallahu*\
   For Your sake, O Allah,

11. بِمُحَمّدٍ،\
   *bi-muhammadin*\
   for the sake of Muhammad,

12. بِعَلِيّ،\
   *bi-\`aliyyin*\
   for the sake of Ali,

13. بِفَاطِمَةَ،\
   *bi-fatimata*\
   for the sake of Fatima,

14. بِالحَسَنِ،\
   *bilhasani*\
   for the sake of Hasan,

15. بِالحُسَيْنِ،\
   *bilhusayni*\
   for the sake of Husayn,

16. بِعَلِيّ بْنِ الحُسَيْنِ،\
   *bi-\`aliyyi bni alhusayni*\
   for the sake of Ali ibn Husayn,

17. بِمُحَمّدِ بْنِ عَلِيّ،\
   *bi-muhammadi bni \`aliyyin*\
   for the sake of Muhammad ibn Ali,

18. بِجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمّدٍ،\
   *bi-ja\`fari bni muhammadin*\
   for the sake of Ja'far ibn Muhammad,

19. بِمُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ،\
   *bi-musa bni ja\`farin*\
   for the sake of Musa ibn Ja'far,

20. بِعَلِيّ بْنِ مُوسَى،\
   *bi-\`aliyyi bni musa*\
   for the sake of Ali ibn Musa,

21. بِمُحَمّدِ بْنِ عَلِيّ،\
   *bi-muhammadi bni \`aliyyin*\
   for the sake of Muhammad ibn Ali,

22. بِعَلِيّ بْنِ مُحَمّدٍ،\
   *bi-\`aliyyi bni muhammadin*\
   for the sake of Ali ibn Muhammad,

23. بِالحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيّ،\
   *bilhasani bni \`aliyyin*\
   for the sake of Hasan ibn Ali,

24. بِالحُجّةِ،\
   *bilhujjati*\
   for the sake of al-Hujjah.

25. أَظْلَمَ الذَّنْبُ مِنْ عَبْدِكَ، فَلْيُحْسِنِ العَفْوُ مِنْ عِندِكَ.\
   *“Azomad dhambo min abdika, fal yohsanal afwu min indika”*\
   "The sin has become greater from Your servant, so let forgiveness from You be perfected.

26. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ العَفْوَ وَالعَافِيَةَ، المُعَافَاةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ.\
   *Allhumma Inni Asaloka Al Afwa wal Afiyata , walmuafata fid-dunya wal akhira*\
   "O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being, and complete protection in this world and the Hereafter."
