Amaal for night preceding 9th Ramadan

Six Rakaat: (between Maghrib and Isha) Surah al-Fatihah and Ayat-ul Kursi seven times fifty times.

1. اللّهُمّ اجْعَلْ لِي فِيهِ نَصِيباً مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ الوَاسِعَةِ،\
   *allahumma ij\`al li fihi nasiban min rahmatika alwasi\`ati*\
   O Allah: on this day, (please) decide for me a share from Your expansive mercy,

2. وَاهْدِنِي فِيهِ لِبَرَاهِينِكَ السَّاطِعَةِ،\
   *wahdiny fihi libarahinika alssati\`ati*\
   And guide me on this day to Your luminous proofs,

3. وَخُذْ بِنَاصِيَتِي إِلَى مَرْضَاتِكَ الجَامِعَةِ،\
   *wa khudh binasiyaty ila mardatika aljami\`ati*\
   And take me from the forelock to Your all-inclusive satisfaction;

4. بِمَحَبّتِكَ يَا أَمَلَ المُشْتَاقِينَ.\
   *bimahabbtika ya amala almushtaqina*\
   Out of Your lovingness; O the hope of the eager ones.

5. يَا سَيِّدَاهُ وَيَا رَبَّاهُ\
   “O‟ my Master! O‟ Nourisher!

6. وَيَا ذَا الْجَلاَلَ وَالإِكْرَامِ\
   O‟ Lord of Majesty, Bounty and Honor!

7. يَا ذَا الْعَرْشِ الَّذِي لاَ يَنَامُ\
   O Lord of the Throne who does not sleep!

8. وَيَا ذَا الْعِزِّ الَّذِي لاَ يُرَامُ\
   O‟ Lord of Exaltedness that does not collapse!

9. يَا قَاضِي الأُمُورِ\
   O‟ Fulfiller of the affairs!

10. يَا شَافِيَ الصُّدُورِ\
   O‟ He who heals the hearts!

11. اجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ أَمْرِي فَرَجاً وَمَخْرَجاً\
   Please provide an easy way out of my affairs

12. وَاقْذِفْ رَجَاءَكَ فِي قَلْبِي\
   and put Your Hope into my heart

13. حَتّى لاَ أَرْجُوَ أَحَداً سِوَاكَ عَلَيْكَ\
   so that I turn to no one but You.

14. سَيِّدِي تَوَكَّلْتُ وِإِلَيْكَ مَوْلاَيَ أَنَبْتُ فَارْحَمْنِي\
   O‟ my Master! I rely upon You. O‟ my Guardian! To You do I turn in repentance

15. وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ\
   And to You is our Final Goal.

16. أَسْأَلُكَ يَا إِلهَ الآلِهَةِ\
   I ask You. O‟ Lord of the lords!

17. وَيَا جَبَّارَ الْجَبَابِرَةِ\
   O' Compeller of the compellers!

18. وَيَا كَبِيرَ الأَكَابِرِ (الَّذي من توكلَ عليه كفاهُ)\
   O‟ Greatest of the great ones!

19. وَكَانَ حَسْبَهُ وَبَالِغَ أَمْرِهِ عَلَيْكَ\
   O‟ He who suffices whoever relies upon Him! God suffices for him and He shall take care of his affairs.

20. تَوَكَّلْتُ فَاكْفِنِي\
   In You I have placed my trust, so please suffice for me

21. وِإِلَيْكَ أَنْبَتُ فَارْحَمْنِي وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ\
   and to You do I turn in repentance. So please have mercy on me And to You is our Final Goal

22. فَاغْفِرْ لِي وَ لَا تُسَوِّدْ وَجْهِي يَوْمَ تَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ وَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ‌\
   so please forgive me and please do not blacken my face on the day on which some faces will be blackened and some will be whitened

23. إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ‌\
   for indeed You are Exalted in Might – All-Wise

24. وَ صَلِّ اللَّهُمَّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ\
   O‟ my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny

25. وَ ارْحَمْنِي وَ تَجَاوَزْ عَنِّي\
   Please have Mercy on me and overlook my faults

26. إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ.\
   as You are All-Forgiving, Merciful!

27. اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ ذَنْبِي وَ اعْصِمْ عَمَلِي\
   O Allah, forgive my sins and protect my deeds.

28. وَ اهْدِ قَلْبِي وَ اشْرَحْ صَدْرِي\
   And guide my heart, and expand my chest.

29. وَ يَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَ جَوِّدْ فَهْمِي\
   And ease my affairs, and enhance my understanding.

30. وَ خَفِّفْ وِزْرِي وَ آمِنْ خَوْفِي\
   And lighten my burdens, and make me secure from fear.

31. وَ ثَبِّتْ حُجَّتِي وَ ارْبُطْ جَأْشِي\
   And strengthen my argument, and calm my heart.

32. وَ بَيِّضْ وَجْهِي وَ ارْفَعْ جَاهِي\
   And whiten my face, and elevate my status.

33. وَ صَدِّقْ قَوْلِي وَ بَلِّغْ حَدِيثِي\
   And affirm my words, and convey my message.

34. وَ عَافِنِي فِي عُمُرِي\
   And grant me health in my lifetime.

35. وَ بَارِكْ لِي فِي مُنْقَلَبِي\
   And bless me in my outcomes.

36. وَ اعْصِمْنِي فِي جَمِيعِ أَحْوَالِي\
   And protect me in all my circumstances.

37. وَ أَوْسِعْ عَلَيَّ فِي رِزْقِي\
   And expand my provision.

38. وَ سَهِّلْ عَلَيَّ مَطَالِبِي\
   And ease my requests.

39. وَ أَعْطِنِي مِنْ جَزِيلِ عَطَائِكَ\
   And grant me from Your generous gifts.

40. وَ أَفْضَلِ مَا أَعْطَيْتَ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِكَ\
   And the best of what You have given to anyone of Your creation.

41. وَ تَجَاوَزْ عَنِّي عَنْ جَمِيعِ مَا عِنْدِي بِحُسْنِ لُطْفِكَ الَّذِي عِنْدَكَ\
   And overlook all that I have with the grace of Your kindness that is with You.

42. اللَّهُمَّ لَا تُشْمِتْ بِي عَدُوِّي\
   O Allah, do not give my enemy joy over me.

43. وَ لَا تُمَكِّنْهُ مِنْ عُنُقِي\
   And do not empower him against me.

44. وَ لَا تَفْضَحْنِي فِي نَفْسِي\
   And do not expose me in my own self.

45. وَ لَا تَفْجَعْنِي فِي جَارِي\
   And do not cause me grief over my neighbor.

46. وَ هَبْ لِي\
   And grant me.

47. يَا إِلَهِي عَطِيَّةً كَرِيمَةً رَحِيمَةً\
   O my God, grant me a gracious and merciful gift.

48. مِنْ عَطَائِكَ الَّذِي لَا فَقْرَ بَعْدَهُ\
   From Your bounty that has no poverty after it.

49. فَقَدْ ضَعُفَتْ قُوَّتِي\
   For my strength has weakened.

50. وَ انْقَطَعَ عَنِ الْخَلْقِ رَجَائِي\
   And my hope from creation has ceased.

51. فَقُدْرَتُكَ\
   For Your power.

52. يَا رَبِّ أَنْ تَرْحَمَنِي\
   O my Lord, have mercy on me.

53. وَ تُعَافِيَنِي كَقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَى أَنْ تُعَذِّبَنِي\
   And grant me health as Your power allows You to punish me.

54. وَ تَبْتَلِيَنِي فَاجْعَلْ\
   And if You test me, then let.

55. يَا مَوْلَايَ فِيمَا قَضَيْتَ\
   O my Master, in what You have decreed.

56. تَعْجِيلَ خَلَاصِي مِنْ جَمِيعِ مَا أَنَا فِيهِ\
   Hasten my deliverance from all that I am in.

57. مِنَ الْمَكْرُوهِ وَ الْمَحْذُورِ وَ الْمَشَقَّةِ\
   From all that is disliked, feared, and difficult.

58. وَعَافِنِي مِنْهُ كُلِّهِ\
   And grant me health from it all.

59. يَا إِلَهِي لَا أَرْجُو لِدَفْعِ ذَلِكَ عَنِّْي\
   O my God, I do not hope for anyone to avert that from me.

60. أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِكَ\
   Anyone from Your creation.

61. فَكُنْ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْإِكْرَامِ\
   So be it, O You of Glory and Honor.

62. عِنْدَ أَحْسَنِ ظَنِّي بِكَ\
   At my best expectations of You.

63. وَ امْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِذَلِكَ\
   And bestow upon me that.

64. وَعَلَى كُلِّ دَاعٍ دَعَاكَ بِهِ\
   And on every caller who calls You with it.

65. يَا مَوْلَايَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ\
   O my Master, among the believers.

66. وَ أَنْتَ سَيِّدِي\
   And You are my Lord.

67. أَمَرْتَ بِالدُّعَاءِ\
   You commanded to invoke.

68. وَ ضَمِنْتَ لِمَنْ شِئْتَ الْإِجَابَةَ\
   And You guaranteed a response for whomever You will.

69. وَ وَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ الَّذِي لَا خُلْفَ لَهُ\
   And Your promise is the truth, which has no alternative.

70. اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ رَبِّي وَ أَنَا عَبْدُكَ آمَنْتُ بِكَ مُخْلِصاً لَكَ دِينِي\
   “O‟ my God! Praise belongs to You and there is no God but You. And I am Your bondsman. I believe in You with a sincere faith.

71. أَمْسَيْتُ عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَ وَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ سُوءِ عَمَلِي وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِذُنُوبِيَ الَّتِي لَا يَغْفِرُهَا إِلَّا أَنْتَ\
   I made it to the evening and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as much as I can. I repent to You from my evil deeds. I ask You to forgive my sins which no one but You can forgive.

72. صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ تَقَبَّلْ صَوْمِي وَ تَفَضَّلْ عَلَيَّ وَ بَلِّغْنِي انْسِلَاخَ هَذَا الشَّهْرِ\
   Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (a), accept my fasting, honor me, and let me see the passage of this month.

73. يَا خَيْرَ الْمَوْلَى يَا مَوْضِعَ كُلِّ شَكْوَى وَ يَا سَامِعَ كُلِّ نَجْوَى وَ يَا شَاهِدَ كُلِّ مَلَإٍ وَ يَا عَالِمَ كُلِّ خَفِيَّةٍ\
   O‟ the Best Master! O‟ He who settles all complaints! O‟ He who hears all that is whispered! O‟ He who witnesses all that is in public! O‟ He who knows all which is kept secret!

74. وَ يَا كَاشِفَ مَا يَشَاءُ مِنْ بَلِيَّةٍ خَلِيلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَ نَجِيِّ مُوسَى وَ مُصْطَفِي مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ\
   O‟ Remover of whatever calamities You wish to remove! Friend of Abraham (a), savior of Moses (a) and choser of Muhammad (s)!

75. أَدْعُوكَ دُعَاءَ مَنِ اشْتَدَّتْ فَاقَتُهُ وَ ضَعُفَتْ قُوَّتُهُ وَ قَلَّتْ حِيلَتُهُ دُعَاءَ الْغَرِيبِ الْغَرِيقِ الْمُضْطَرِّ الْبَائِسِ الْفَقِيرِ الَّذِي لَا يَجِدُ لِكَشْفِ مَا هُوَ فِيهِ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ إِلَّا أَنْتَ\
   I pray to You as one who is experiencing extreme destitute – one who is weakened, and feeble – the lonely one, the drowned, the distressed, the poverty-stricken, poor- he who finds no one to eliminate his sins but You.

76. فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ فَرِّجْ عَنِّي وَ اكْشِفْ مَا بِي مِنْ ضُرٍّ وَ تَقَبَّلْ صَوْمِي وَ صَلَاتِي فِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ الْعَظِيمِ وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ.\
   Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (a). Please relieve me, and remove all my sufferings. And accept my fasting and praying during this grand month. Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (a)- the pure ones.

77. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ\
   O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and his pure family

78. وَ افْتَحْ لِي فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا مِنْكَ أَبْوَابَ الرَّحْمَةِ\
   And open for me, on this day, the doors of mercy from You

79. اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنَّكَ تَسْتَجِيبُ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ\
   O Allah, indeed You respond to the prayer for Muhammad

80. وَ قَدْ سَأَلْتُكَ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا\
   And I have asked You for blessings upon him on this day

81. فَاسْتَجِبْ لِي فِي نَفْسِي صَالِحَ مَا أَدْعُو بِهِ فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا\
   So answer me with what is good for my soul in this day

82. وَ مَا قَبْلَهُ وَ مَا بَعْدَهُ\
   And what is before it and what is after it.

83. وَ فِي شَهْرِي هَذَا كَمَا اسْتَجَبْتَ\
   And in this month, as You have answered me

84. لِي فِي مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ\
   For me in Muhammad, may Allah's peace be upon him and his family

85. اللَّهُمَّ أَعْلِ عَلَى الْبُنْيَانِ بُنْيَانَهُ\
   O Allah, elevate his status in the building

86. وَ أَنْزِلْهُ مَنْزِلَتَهُ\
   And grant him his rightful place

87. وَ زَكِّهِ وَ اجْعَلْهُ مَقْبُولَ الشَّهَادَةِ\
   And purify him, and make him accepted witness

88. مَرْضِيَّ الْمَقَالَةِ كَمَا حَكَمَ وَ عَدَلَ\
   Accepted in his speech as he judged and was just

89. وَ جَهَدَ وَ لَمْ يُقَصِّرْ وَ نَصَحَ لِأُمَّتِهِ\
   And he strived without failing, and advised his community

90. وَ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ وَ صَبَرَ عَلَى حُسْنِ بَلَائِكَ\
   And struggled in Your cause and was patient with Your good tests

91. حَتَّى أَتَاهُ الْيَقِينُ وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ\
   Until certainty came to him, and may Allah bless him and his family

92. إِلَهِي أَنَا الَّذِي لَمْ أَزَلْ أُذْنِبُ\
   O my God, I am the one who continuously sins

93. وَ تَغْفِرُ وَ أُخْطِئُ وَ تُحْسِنُ إِلَيَّ\
   And You forgive, and I err, and You treat me well

94. أَنَا الَّذِي حَمَلْتُ الذُّنُوبَ\
   I am the one who bears sins

95. أَنَا الْأَسِيرُ بِبَلِيَّتِي\
   I am the one imprisoned by my misfortune

96. أَنَا الْمُجَدِّدُ خَطِيئَتِي\
   I am the one renewing my mistake

97. أَنَا الْمُنْقَطَعُ بِي\
   I am the one severed by it

98. وَ قَدْ وَقَفْتُ نَفْسِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ\
   And I have placed myself before You

99. مَوْقِفَ الْمُذْنِبِينَ الْمُتَجَرِّءِينَ عَلَيْكَ\
   In the position of sinners who dare to address You

100. الْمُسْتَخِفِّينَ بِحَقِّكَ وَ وَعْدِكَ\
   Who belittle Your rights and promises

101. النَّاقِصِينَ لِحَقِّكَ\
   Who neglect the rights owed to You

102. \[َّاقِضِينَ لِعَهْدِكَ‌\]\
   Who breach their covenant with You

103. وَ مَوْقِفَ مَنْ أَسْلَمَتْهُ ذُنُوبُهُ\
   And in the position of one whose sins have overtaken him

104. وَ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ خَلِيلُهُ وَ قَرِينُهُ\
   And his friend and companion disown him

105. إِلَهِي فَارْحَمِ الْيَوْمَ صَرْعَتِي\
   O my God, have mercy on my collapse today

106. وَ عَثْرَتِي وَ أَقِلْنِي زَلَّتِي\
   And my stumbling, and free me from my missteps

107. وَ اجْعَلْنِي بَعْدَ الْيَأْسِ وَ سُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ\
   And make me, after despair and bad outcomes

108. حَسَنَ الظَّنِّ بِكَ حِينَ وُقُوفِي\
   Have good expectations of You when I stand

109. بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ يَا مَالِكَ رِقِّي\
   Before You, O Master of my captivity

110. ارْحَمْنِي‌ إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ\
   Have mercy on me, indeed You are capable of all things

111. وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ\
   And may Allah bless Muhammad and his pure family.
